Terms and risk for Best Business Credit Lines
Merrowgate Business Credit (emulated example) → Business line of credit → Written draw and repayment terms → Clear guarantee and renewal conditions
Answer in brief
What guarantees, collateral, renewal terms and aggressive offers mean for you.
Content reviewed 8 November 2026. How this is assessed.
- Personal guarantees on a business line: A personal guarantee makes you responsible for the debt if the business cannot pay. Lenders may require one from owners, but federal rules limit requiring signatures from spouses.
- Draws, covenants and renewal: Check how you draw and repay, what conditions you must keep meeting, and what lets the lender reduce, freeze or decline to renew the line.
- Warning signs in financing offers: Be wary of unclear costs, claims of government affiliation, and promises about collateral or guarantees that do not appear in the contract. Report what concerns you to the FTC.
- Is a business line of credit secured or unsecured?: A business line of credit can be either secured or unsecured. Secured lines are backed by assets such as receivables or inventory, and unsecured lines often still require a personal guarantee.
